Jon Werner was born in Faribault, MN. He lived there until he moved to Iowa in 1987 to attend the University of Iowa in Iowa City. While at Iowa, he played football for the Hawkeyes, and was a member of the 1991 Rose Bowl team. July 2011 he wed his beautiful bride, Leigh, and he now resides with his children Nora, Jack, Chris, and Alex in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. From 1992 until 1998 Jon worked for Northwestern Mutual Life/ Baird Securities. In 1998 he created Cornerstone Capital Management. In 2005, Jon, along with his business partner, Steve Mickelson, created Stonefield Investment Advisory, a Registered Investment Advisory (RIA). Jon has been a member of the Fidelity Advisory Council since 2003, and is a co-establisher of the Eastern Iowa Arthritis Foundation. Jon is also a member of the Iowa-I club board; and a former rugby player with the local Cedar Rapids Headhunters Rugby team for 17 years. In the past he has been a board member of both the National Kidney Foundation, and Alzheimer’s Association; Jon’s hobbies include coaching kids’ football, pheasant/upland bird hunting, writing, playing guitar, spending time with his family and laughing with friends.
